MR. T. M. HEALYI beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland if he can now state why the county Meath was not allowed to adopt the Staffordshire bye-law as to resignation of members of the county council.
§ MR. G. W. BALFOURI am not aware whether the Staffordshire bye-law requires confirmation by any Government Department. The County Meath bye-law, in the opinion of the Irish law officers, was ultra vires.
