§ MR. LAMBERTI beg to ask the President of the Board of Trade whether he is aware that passenger steamers from Jersey to England are often delayed for two or three hours at Guernsey, and 1321 whether he would make representations to the railway companies concerned to minimise this delay.
§ MR. RITCHIEI have communicated with the railway companies concerned, and understand that the delays to which the hon. Member refers are chiefly due to the fact that the steamers in question are cargo as well as passenger vessels. The matter is not one in which the Board of Trade have any jurisdiction, but I am assured that everything practicable is done to minimise delay.
