HC Deb 20 July 1900 vol 86 cc648-9
DR. TANNER

I beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for War if he is aware of the fact that the only application made to visit the Camp, South Denes, Yarmouth, was that made by the Sisters of Nazareth, highly commended in South Africa; and what explanation; has been given by Colonel Commanding Brownrigg for their being turned away from the camp now containing 1,000 Roman Catholic Volunteers.

* MR. WYNDHAM

I am prepared to inquire into this matter.

DR. TANNER

Is the hon. Gentleman aware there are 1,000 Catholic troops in this camp, and that no objection was offered by the men to the visits of these sisters?

[No answer was given.]
