MASSEY-MAINWARING (Finsbury, Central)I beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for War if he will state by whose orders the garden of the Chelsea pensioners was lately closed at 8 p.m. instead of 9 p.m.; by whose orders this garden has been closed at 8.30 p.m. this week; and why the hour fixed for closing between the 10th June and 10th July, which has existed for many years, was altered, and at whose suggestion.
§ MR. WYNDHAMThe gardens were closed at an earlier hour than usual by orders of the Lieutenant Governor and Secretary of the hospital to prevent disorderly conduct which, it appears, had been taking place in the dusk.
