DRAGE (Derby)I beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury whether any attempt has been made to ascertain the views of the Colonial and Indian Governments on the reorganisation of the military forces of the Empire; and whether the Government will consider the desirability of adding to the Committee of the Council of Defence representatives of the great self-governing colonies and of India.
§ MR. A. J. BALFOURI understand that opportunity has been taken to consult the authorities on the question referred to by my hon. friend. The Committee referred to in the question is a Committee of the Cabinet, and the Government, therefore, cannot add to it in the manner suggested.
