Ordered, That a Select Committee be appointed to inquire and report as to the existing arrangements for the provision of Fire Brigades (including both staff and appliances) in England and Wales excepting the Metropolitan Fire Brigade; the adequacy of such arrangements for the due protection of life and property from destruction or injury from fire, and the Amendments, if any, which are necessary or desirable in the law on the subject.

Committee accordingly nominated of, Colonel Bowles, Mr. Cameron, Mr. Jesse Collings, Mr. Duncombe, Sir George Fardell, Mr. Thomas Joseph Farrell, Mr. Heath, Mr. Howell, Mr. William Jones, Mr. Malcolm, Mr. Palmer, Mr. Pym, Mr. Harold Beckett, Mr. Richardson, and Major Wyndham-Quinn.

Ordered, That the Committee have power to send for persons, papers, and records.
