SCOTT () Lancashire, LeighI beg to ask Mr. Attorney General whether, having regard to the fact that doubts exist as to whether the proposed charter for the University of Birmingham will empower the university to grant degrees in theology or other subjects not recognised by the statutes as subjects for degrees, the Government will state what is intended to be the effect of the charter in this matter, and will advise Her Majesty so to amend the charter as to make it clear that this cannot be done.
