GENERAL RUSSELLI beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for War whether any offer has been made to the War Office to raise a cycle corps; and, if so, whether the offer has been accepted or declined; and whether he is aware that a number of Boers are mounted on cycles and have proved of considerable service to the enemy.
§ * MR. WYNDHAMProposals to raise corps for service in South Africa have been made, but it has not been thought advisable to approve them. The subject is, however, being further considered. We have no knowledge of the Boers using cycles.
