M'KENNA () Monmouth, N.I beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether his attention has been called to certain statements recently made in a French newspaper, Le Siè le, according to which French and German investors own upwards of one-half of the total shares in Transvaal gold mines, and British investors in the British Isles and in the Colonies own less than one-half of the total of such shares and whether he has any information which would confirm or contradict these statements.
