HC Deb 16 February 1900 vol 79 cc232-3
MR. J. P. FARRELL

I beg to ask the Secretary to the Treasury, as repre- senting the Postmaster General, on what grounds the Post Office authorities refused to erect a lamp outside the new post office in Longford, which, whilst affording light to that part of the street, would be of much use to the public frequenting the post office on dark nights; and, whether, as this new building is a considerable ornament to the town, they will, for the sake of a few pounds extra, light it up in a better manner.

MR. HANBURY

This is a very small matter on which to put a question. There is a public lamp immediately outside; the office already.
