§ MR. GALLOWAY () Manchester, S.W.I beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for War whether, in view of the large number of casualties amongst senior regimental officers serving in South Africa, steps can be taken to provide against possible vacancies in the future by releasing adjutants of Volunteer corps for active service, and employing officers from the Reserve of Officers to take over the duty of adjutant of such Volunteer corps.
§ *MR. WYNDHAMHaving in view the need of maintaining the efficiency of the Auxiliary forces, the Commander-in-Chief is not prepared to take their present adjutants from them.
