HC Deb 13 February 1900 vol 78 c1376
MR. ENGLEDEW

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether the cost of printing and advertisements in connection with the assize and county courts and the office of the clerk of the Crown and Peace can be charged on the funds of the county councils in Ireland, having regard to the fact that the salaries of the judges and officers of such courts are paid from the Imperial Exchequer.

MR. ATKINSON (for Mr. G. W. BALFOUR)

The cost of the printing and advertisements mentioned must be paid by the county council out of the county rates, as was formerly done by the grand jury, to whose powers and duties the county council have succeeded.
