HC Deb 12 February 1900 vol 78 c1226
GENERAL RUSSELL

I beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for War whether, in view of the prevalence of enteric fever among our troops now serving in South Africa, flannel belts are issued to the men as a part of their necessary equipment, as is the case in India.

* MR. J. POWELL-WILLIAMS

Two flannel or worsted belts are issued to every man going to South Africa, and a reserve supply has also been sent out.
