HC Deb 08 February 1900 vol 78 c913
MR. BROADHURST (Leicester)

I beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for War if he is aware that on the recommendation of those acquainted with the South African climate some of our troops have been supplied with sleeping helmets at the instance of private donors; that such helmets are regarded as an absolutely necessary protection against pneumonia and other lung troubles; and if the War Office will cause all the troops to be furnished with them.

* MR. WYNDHAM

The question of providing some head-dress for sleeping in is under consideration.
