HC Deb 06 February 1900 vol 78 cc705-6
MR. BAINBRIDGE

I beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for War whether the attention of the Government has been drawn to a statement by Colonel Angus, commanding the 1st Newcastle-on-Tyne Volunteer Artillery, and similar statements by other Volunteer officers, that the guns supplied to Volunteers are of quite an obsolete pattern; and what steps are being taken to remedy this?

* MR. WYNDHAM

I have not seen the statement referred to, but the guns of the Volunteer Artillery are not of a recent pattern. I shall refer to this matter when I make the statement of our proposals to the House.
