HC Deb 02 February 1900 vol 78 c437
MR. COLVILLE (Lanarkshire, N.E.)

I beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for War why the quickest mail steamers flying the British flag were not employed in the transport of troops to South Africa; and whether at least two days could have been saved on the voyage over the average of the vessels which were thus employed.

* MR. WYNDHAM

I understand that the First Lord of the Admiralty will be happy to answer this question on an early day next week.
