HC Deb 01 February 1900 vol 78 c287
MR. HENNIKER HEATON (Canterbury)

I beg to ask the Secretary to the Treasury, as representing the Postmaster General, whether more than fourteen years have elapsed since negotiations commenced with a view to establishing parcel post between England and the United States; whether he is aware that there is a parcel post arrangement between the United States and several British colonies; and whether a parcel post has been established between Germany and the United States.

MR. HANBURY

The answer to all three paragraphs of the hon. Member's question is in the affirmative. Renewed proposals for a parcel post with this country have recently been made to the United States Post Office, and the Postmaster General hopes soon to receive a favourable reply.
