The House went; and the Royal Assent was given to —

  1. 1. Appropriation Act, 1900 (Session 2).
  2. 2. Supplemental War Loan (No. 2) Act, 1900.

And afterwards Her Majesty's Most Gracious Speech was delivered to both Houses of Parliament by the Lord High Chancellor (in pursuance of Her Majesty's Commands), as followeth:—

My Lords and Gentleman

I thank you for the liberal provision which you have made for the expenses incurred by the operations of My Armies in South Africa and China, Then a Commission for proroguing the Parliament was read.

After which the Lord Chancellor said—

"My Lord, and Gentlemen,

"By virtue of Her Majesty's Commission, under the Great Seal, to us and other Lords directed, and now read, we do, in Her Majesty's name, and in obedience to her commands, prorogue this Parliament to Thursday the 14th day of February next, to be then here holden; and this Parliament is accordingly prorogued to Thursday, the 11th day of February next."
