PIRIEI beg to ask the Secretary of State for War whether he has received a memorial from the civil staff of the department of the Inspector General of Fortifications drawing attention to their treatment and praying for a redress of their grievances; whether the memorial was recommended to the Secretary of State's consideration by General Sir Richard Harrison and other military officers under whom the petitioners had served; and whether any reply has been, or will be, sent to the Inspector General.
