I beg to ask the Secretary of State for War whether he can state the total number of cases of typhoid fever among the forces in South Africa up to the end of September, the number of deaths from that disease, and the number sent home as invalids.

The total number of cases of typhoid fever among the forces in South Africa from the beginning of the war to 28th September, 1900, is 15,655, the number of deaths from that disease, 3,642, and the number sent home as invalids, 9,128.
