HC Deb 10 December 1900 vol 88 c340
EARL PERCY (Kensington, S.)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether there is any intention of taking stops in South Africa to suppress newspapers of a distinctly seditious character.

MR. J. CHAMBERLAIN

I have no doubt that the Ministers of the Cape Colony will take any action that will be rendered necessary, whilst in districts under martial law it will be for the military authorities to consider what steps are required.
