HC Deb 10 December 1900 vol 88 cc340-1
MR. T. M. HEALY

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for War whether some Irish and Irish-American prisoners captured during the Boer war are now interned in Ceylon and St. Helena, and if any political or other reason exists for refusing to allow them to return to their homos; or, if not, would they he brought to trial.

MR. J. POWELL-WILLIAMS

Full lists of the prisoners have not yet reached this office, but it is understood that some prisoners of Irish nationality are interned in Ceylon and St. Helena. They cannot be treated differently from other prisoners of war.
