§ MAJOR RASCH (Essex, S.E.)I beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for War whether he can now state whether Count Adalbert Sternberg, the author of the article on England in the Gaulois of 21st March, who was captured with General Cronje and allowed to come to this country after his release, was a war correspondent only, or whether he had borne arms and directed operations against British troops.
§ * MR. WYNDHAMNo, Sir. Count Adalbert Sternberg has been represented both as a non-combatant and as a combatant. But his own statements, so far as I know, afford the only evidence for relegating him to either category.
