§ MR. HOWELL (Denbigh Burghs)I beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for War whether his attention has been drawn to the formation of a company, called the British Armaments Corporation, for the manufacture of guns and projectiles, and whether any officials of the War Office have any connection with the company or have officially expressed any opinion as to the undertaking; and whether, in view of statements made in connection with the flotation of the company, he can state whether the Government is in any way interested in the matter.
§ MR. WYNDHAMNothing is known of the existence of such a company or of the issue of any prospectus with the view to the formation of such a company. The hon. Member appears not to be aware that any member of the War Office, whether civil or military, who purchases shares in such a company disqualifies himself from retaining his appointment under the War Office.
