HC Deb 27 October 1899 vol 77 c764
MR. JAMES BAILEY (Newington, Walworth)

I beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for War whether the attention of Her Majesty's Government has been drawn to the capture of Colonel Schiel, an officer of German nationality, who has been prominently connected with the organisation of the Boer military force; and whether representations will be made to the German Government on this subject.

*THE UNDER SECRETARY OF STATE FOR WAR (Mr. GEORGE WYNDHAM,) Dover

The answer to the first paragraph is in the affirmative. The question involved in the second paragraph in no way concerns the War Office.
