HC Deb 19 October 1899 vol 77 c240
MR. LOUGH (Islington, W.)

I beg to ask the President of the Board of Agriculture when the last authenticated case of rabies occurred in the Metropolis. And whether he now sees his way to state when he will be able to revoke the order for the muzzling of dogs in the Metropolis.

*THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD OF AGRICULTURE (Mr. LONG,) Liverpool, West Derby

I have under consideration proposals with regard to the withdrawal of the muzzling orders now in force in the Metropolitan Police District, and I shall be in a position to make a definite announcement on the subject at an early date. The last authenticated case of rabies in the Metropolitan District occurred on the 8th June, 1898.
