HC Deb 09 May 1899 vol 71 c147
MR. CHANNING (Northampton, E.)

I beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury whether the Government have sanctioned the issue of writs that will enable the two Convocations of Canterbury and York to sit together in future; and whether there is any precedent for such a course since the reign of King Henry VIII.

THE FIRST LORD OF THE TREASURY (Mr. A. J. BALFOUR,) Manchester, E.

There is no truth in the rumour which the hon. Member has heard, and to which he has given expression in the first paragraph of his question.
