§ SIR J. PEASE (Durham, Barnard Castle)I beg to ask the Secretary or State for the Home Department if he is prepared to bring in during the present Session a short Bill to amend the existing Law of Constructive Murder, or to support a Bill, the terms of which should be satisfactory to the Home Office, having the same object in view?
§ THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR THE HOME DEPARTMENTI am of opinion that the law of constructive murder does require amendment; but it is a very difficult subject to deal with, and I cannot hold out any hope that the Government will be able this Session to, introduce a Bill or otherwise to afford adequate facilities for the treatment of this important question. I may add that understand that the opinion of Her Majesty's Judges on this existing state of the law has been specially invited.
