HC Deb 23 March 1899 vol 69 c146
MR. HOGAN

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he is now in position to give particulars of the claim for compensation made by the British New Guinea Syndicate in consequence of the disallowance if an ordinance passed by the Legislature of that dependency?

THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR THE COLONIES

The British New Guinea Syndicate have submitted particulars of their claim to the Governor of Queensland through the Agent-General of the Colony, but I am not prepared to state the particulars while the matter is unsettled.
