MR DONAL SULLIVAN (Westmeath, S.)

On behalf of the honourable Member for Cork (Mr. Maurice Healy), I beg to ask the Secretary to the Treasury, as representing the Postmaster-General, whether complaints have been made as to the non-delivery of letters at the house of Mr. Edward M'Cullagh, of Caum Killinardrish,. county Cork; whether, notwithstanding that a postman passes within a few hundred yards of his house, Mr. M'Cullagh is obliged to send to the post office over a mile off for his letters; and whether, in view of the promise of a house to house delivery of letters, arrangements will be made to deliver his letters at Mr. Cullagh's house.

THE FINANCIAL SECRETARY TO THE TREASURY (Mr. R. W. HANBURY,) Preston

A surveying officer shall be Bent to visit the locality very shortly. The extension of the free delivery in the rural districts of Ireland is being carried out as rapidly as possible.
