HC Deb 16 March 1899 vol 68 c952
MR. SWIFT MACNEILL

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether he is prepared to give an undertaking that reasonable notice will be given of the day to be fixed for the Second Reading of the Loans Fund (Ireland) Bill?

MR. GERALD BALFOUR

I have no wish to spring the Second Reading of this Bill on honourable Members, but I cannot give an undertaking that it will not be proceeded with in the ordinary course on any day for which it may be set down.
