HC Deb 16 March 1899 vol 68 cc951-2
MR. SWIFT MACNEILL (Donegal, S.)

I beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether the Report for which he telegraphed four weeks ago to Lord Cromer of the destruction of the Mahdi's tomb and the mutilation of his dead body has been yet received; if it has been received when will it, in accordance with the promise of the Government, be printed and circulated among Members of the House of Commons; and, if the Report has not been received, what is the reason of the delay?

MR. BRODRICK

An Official Report was despatched from Cairo on the 13th inst. It will be communicated to the House in due course. There has been no undue delay, allowing for necessary communications between Lord Cromer and Lord Kitchener.

MR. SWIFT MACNEILL

Shall we have the communications in extenso, or only selections from them?
