HC Deb 16 March 1899 vol 68 c960
MR. TIMOTHY HEALY

I beg to ask Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer if the Board of Inland Revenue intend further reducing the number of first-class officers at present in Dublin collection, and if they propose to replace any first-class officers in Excise warehouses in Dublin by assistants, considering the great hardship to officers caused by checking promotion, and reversing the previous policy of the Board?

THE CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHEQUER (Sir M. HICKS BEACH, Bristol, W.)

The Board of Inland Revenue have no intention of replacing first-class officers employed in Excise warehouses in Dublin by assistants.
