HC Deb 16 March 1899 vol 68 c960
MR. TIMOTHY HEALY (Louth, N.)

I beg to ask the Secretary to the Treasury why nothing has been done to make the turnstile of Chapelizod Gate, Phoenix Park, more convenient for cyclists; and what has resulted from the Inquiry promised last year?

MR. HANBURY

An attempt was made in the direction indicated by the honourable Member, but, as the park gate was left open and the deer escaped, it was necessary to discontinue it. No Inquiry was promised last year.

MR. TIMOTHY HEALY

Surely, something could be done. The gate has never been unchained, and no attempt has been made to improve it.
