MR. W. MARTHUR (Cornwall, St Austell)I beg to ask the Civil Lord of the Admiralty whether any decision has been come to in regard to the negotiations between the Admiralty and the Auckland Harbour Board; and, if not, what is the reason of the delay?
§ THE CIVIL LORD OF THE ADMIRALTY (Mr. AUSTEN CHAMBERLAIN, Worcestershire, E.)No decision has yet been come to. The Secretary of the. Harbour Board has, however, made a definite proposal to the Admiralty on behalf of his Board, and this offer is now under consideration by the Admiralty and Treasury. I hope that a final decision may be given shortly.
