PIRIEOn behalf of the honourable Member for Dundee I beg to ask the Under Secretary for Foreign Affairs whether any representations are being made to the Government of France on the continuance of the unequal treatment of British goods which, after being charged far higher rates than similar French goods, the natives are forbidden to buy, and of the higher dues imposed on British ships, such treatment being an infraction of the promise made to the British Government when Madagascar became a French protectorate?
§ MR. BRODRICKI regret to say that no reply has yet been received from the French Government to the representations addressed to them as to the unequal treatment of British goods in Madagascar.
