HC Deb 27 June 1899 vol 73 c769
MR. WEIR

I beg to ask the President of the Board of Trade, having regard to the fact that the Committee of Railway General Managers have for a long time past had under consideration the question of an efficient means of communication on all passenger trains between the passenger and the guard, will he state whether any efforts have been made to obtain a speedy decision on the subject.

MR. RITCHIE

I have communicated from time to time with the railway companies on the subject referred to by the hon. Member. The general managers have not yet come to an agreement among themselves as to the most suitable appliance.
