HC Deb 20 June 1899 vol 73 cc60-1
MR. FLAVIN (Kerry, N.)

I beg to, ask the First Lord of the Admiralty whether it is the intention of the Government to send a training ship or cruiser to Tarbert Harbour, in county Kerry; whether ships have not been stationed at Tarbert several times during late years; and why is not the same practice now continued, seeing that Tarbert Harbour is one of the safest anchorages in the West of Ireland.

MR. GOSCHEN

My answer to the first question of the hon. Member is, "Not at present." My answer to the second is in the affirmative. With regard to the third question, the answer is that other arrangements have appeared more expedient in the interests of the Service.
