HC Deb 20 June 1899 vol 73 c66
MR. SYDNEY BUXTON (Tower Hamlets, Poplar)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether it is the fact that the New South Wales Parliament has passed a resolution in favour of federation.

MR. J. CHAMBERLAIN

My hon. friend means the New South Wales Constituent Assembly, I think?

MR. SYDNEY BUXTON

Yes.

MR. J. CHAMBERLAIN

I am glad to say that I have received a telegram from the Prime Minister of New South Wales saying that the vote in favour of federation has been passed by a great majority.
