HC Deb 09 June 1899 vol 72 c763
COLONEL MILWARD (Stratford-upon-Avon)

I beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether the Treaties existing between the United States of America and the Governments of Austria-Hungary, Belgium, France, Germany, and Russia respectively contain what is known as the most favoured nation clause.

The treaties concluded by the United States with Austria, Belgium, and Russia contain the conditional most favoured nation articles. The treaty with Prussia contains an article according most favoured nation treatment to produce and manufactures in matters of import duties, &c. The treaty with France contains no most favoured-nation article.
