I beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether the Secretary of State is acting on the recommendations, in respect to Foreign Service Messengers, contained in paragraph 20 of the final Report of the Ridley Commission.

; The Secretary of State has reduced the salary for new appointments from £400 to £250, and proposes to raise the maximum age of appointment from 35 to 40 in accordance with the recommendations of the Royal Commission.
