§ MR. HOGAN (Tipperary, Mid.)I beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether the conferences in reference to the future of the Imperial Institute are now concluded; and, if so, whether there is any objection to stating the general results or recommendations that have been arrived at.
§ MR. J. CHAMBERLAINSatisfactory progress has been made with the negotiations, and a definite proposal is now before the Senate of the University and the Council of the Institute. If, as is hoped, the replies of the two bodies are favourable, the result will be communicated to the House.
