Gentleman for the newspaper cutting he sent me, but I have not otherwise received any information that the Calcutta opium smoking shops are carrying on an illicit business quite openly. No licences for such shops are granted in Calcutta. The subject of the hon. Member's, question will be brought to the notice of the Government of India.
