HC Deb 04 July 1899 vol 73 c1413
MR. HOGAN

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether the business of the approaching Conference of representatives of the Imperial and Colonial Governments will be limited to a re-adjustment of financial responsibilities in connection with the construction and working of the proposed Pacific Cable, or whether it is proposed to discuss questions generally affecting the telegraphic service of the Empire.

MR. J. CHAMBERLAIN

The only purpose of the Conference is to discuss matters relating to the proposed Pacific Cable.
