I beg to ask the President of the Local Government Board if he could state to the House what is the total number and population of the urban and rural districts, including non-county boroughs, with a population above 7,000, which will or may be excluded from the jurisdiction of the county councils under the Small Houses Bill as now proposed to be amended by the Government; and, what is the total number and population of the remaining districts.

The total number of districts referred to in the first paragraph of the question is 892, with a population of 13,707,696. The number of the remaining districts is 832, with a population of 3,179,630.
