HC Deb 20 February 1899 vol 66 cc1440-1
MR. M'CARTAN

I beg to ask the Secretary to the Treasury, as representing the Postmaster-General, with reference to the want of receiving and delivering telegraph stations in the centre of the city of Belfast, whether he is aware that there is not a single station between Waring Street and all along Donegall Street up to the Crumlin Road; and whether he will consider the desirability of establishing one at the post office in Donegall Street beside the Grand Métropole Hotel?

MR. HANBURY

There is no telegraph office along the line of route in Belfast described by the honourable Member. The question of establishing an office in Donegall Street has been more than once considered, but, as it is nearly two years since the last inquiry was made, a further report shall be called for, and the result communicated to the honourable Member.
