HC Deb 10 February 1899 vol 66 c674
MR. WILLIAM REDMOND (Clare, East)

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether it is intended to reopen Ennis Prison?

MR. GERALD BALFOUR

The prison at Ennis, which has latterly been used as a lock-up, is no longer to be used as such, but will be adapted to the purposes of a State Inebriate Reformatory under the provisions of the Act of last year.
