DUNCOMBEI beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether the correspondent of the "Times" newspaper has been assaulted by Boers at Johannesburg because he has sent truthful accounts of the grievances of the Uitlauders to this country; and whether the Government propose to take any action in the matter?
§ THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR THE COLONIESThe editor of the Johannesburg "Star" appears to have been assaulted on account of an article in that paper on the subject of the International Peace Conference. His assailant, who was a private individual, has been fined £20, and, as at present revised, I do not propose to take any action in the matter.
