HC Deb 24 May 1898 vol 58 c549
SIR G. BADEN-POWELL (Liverpool, Kirkdale)

I beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he can give any further information as to the proposed abandonment of the clause in the War Revenue Bill before the Congress of the United States, which imposes extra and heavy tonnage dues on vessels visiting American ports?

MR. CURZON

We have heard that the clause in question has been struck out by the Committee of the Senate.
