I beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he has taken any steps to prevent the cruelty annually inflicted upon animals by the overcrowding of vehicles going to Epsom Races on Derby Day?

Special attention is always given by the police on occasions such as that mentioned in the Question, with a view to prevent overloading or any other act of cruelty. The force have full and precise instructions on the subject.
